Choosing an Anniversary Present October 9, 2017 10:30
The first wedding anniversary is symbolised by paper and as we know the names of some anniversaries provide guidance for appropriate or traditional gifts for the spouses to give each other. So what could be better than an unusual hand crafted paper cut artwork which can be personalised if you wish. Not only will this thoughtful and fitting gift be loved and appreciated, it will also be cherished for years to come.
We have a whole section on this website devoted to weddings and personalised artwork suitable for all budgets
Work in progress October 6, 2017 09:30
It's only October but galleries are asking for Xmas stock already! I've been busy in my studio making work to send all over the country to the many galleries that I supply.
Business for Bohemians October 5, 2017 17:47
I have just read this brilliant book by Tom Hodgkinson and although I have been running my own business as a self employed artist for over 20 years, it is great to have confirmation that I am not alone in how I feel about my life \ work balance. He quotes Robert Louis Stevenson who said that 'my idea of a (wo)man's chief end was to enrich the world with things of beauty and have a fairly good time myself while doing so'. I love what I do and the freedom that it gives me is more important than money. I'm not bothered about expensive cars, clothes and holidays and I will never retire. Work is just about the most important thing in my life (along with my friends and family) and working on my own means I don't have responsibility for others. My ideal day is to walk round the cliffs in the morning - which I usually do with a friend, cycle to my studio ...in the sun preferably... and stay there most of the day making and creating and then spend the evening with family & friends or doing zumba or yoga. Having said that, work is almost never off my mind. I think about it constantly and often have to work in the evenings instead of being sociable. But I don't mind doing that as I love my work!

New Work September 30, 2017 16:00
I've been thinking for a long time about ways in which I can develop my work, especially ways in which to use more colour. These are some collage sketches using motifs and individual shapes that I made today inspired by mid century textile designs. I'm looking forward to getting back into my studio tomorrow to develop them further.
Congratulations September 29, 2017 12:30
Congratulations to the @justacard campaign for today's success and thank you to Sarah Hamilton for supporting and promoting my work.
Just a Card Campaign September 28, 2017 22:04
Today I'm supporting Sarah Hamilton and her amazing JUSTACARD campaign on Instagram. Sarah is making people aware that just buying a card or soemthing small from artists, makers, independent shops and galleries helps them stay in business. This means that you can continue to have a choice of original, beautiful and creative things rather than a high street full of chains selling the same stuff everywhere.
