I spend lots and lots of time thinking about alternative ways to present my work. Something fresh and modern that doesn't involve a traditional frame. So, I've discovered these lovely wooden blocks. It takes a bit of preparation and very careful gluing and varnishing but I love the finished effect. This is the first and there are lots more on the way...

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of judging the art competition made by the children of St Thomas's primary school for their eisteddfod. They studied my work and made drawings or cut outs based on it. The work they produced was absolutely beautiful and very inspiring - far better than anything I could do! Here are some of the winners.

I've been looking through my archive at the first papercuts I ever made. They're all hand done and it was only when I realised that I couldn't possibly keep up with demand if I had to cut each one myself that I investigated laser cutting about 18 months ago. You really can't tell the difference unless you looked through a microscope and then you can sometimes see a slightly burnished edge on the lasercut. I much prefer cutting by hand than plotting the design on my computer but I need to make a living!!
